Methi Gajar Green Pulao Recipe

Methi Gajar Green Pulao recipe - Quantity ideal for 2 people:

Ingredients:
  • 1 tsp pure ghee
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 medium tomato, chopped
  • 1 small carrot, chopped
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 cup fresh methi leaves (fenugreek)
  • 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves
  • Pinch of turmeric powder
  • Chilli powder as per preference
  • 1 cup basmati rice, soaked for 30 minutes
  • 2 cups water
  • Salt as per taste

Methi Gajar Green Pulao Preparation:
  1. Heat ghee in pressure cooker... without the lid on ;)
  2. Add cumin seeds and cloves.
  3. When the cumin seeds splutter, add onion, ginger garlic paste, tomato and carrot.
  4. Mix and add garam masala, turmeric powder and chilli powder
  5. Add all the green leaves that are properly washed and finely chopped.
  6. Drain water from the soaked rice and add the rice to this mixture.
  7. Stir well and add salt.
  8. Pressure cook the rice mixture.
Serve with a smile and lots of love!

Tips:
  1. Clean all the leaves properly so as to remove all the mud and dust if any.
  2. To save time, soak the rice first and then start chopping. This way while the chopping is done and onions are fried, rice is soaked sufficiently for the required 30 minutes.
