Besan Laddoo Authentic Recipe
As promised, here's the authentic besan laddoo (sweet made of gram flour) recipe on the occasion of Diwali.
Besan Laddu Recipe Ingredients:
4 Cups Besan (gram flour)
Few Cashew nuts and Almonds (if you prefer)
1 Cup Pure Ghee
Elaichi (cardamom) powder
2-3 Cups sugar powder or jaggery powder based on your preferred sweetness.
Besan Laddu Preparation:
Besan Laddu is best prepared from freshly ground gram flour. If that's not possible, you can opt for readymade besan.
First of all, you must sieve besan properly.
If you are using dry fruits, grind them well.
Heat ghee in a kadhai (heavy iron pan).
Reduce the flame and add besan.
Cook on low flame stirring continuously.
When the besan turns dark brown and give the distinct aroma, add the dry fruits and cardamom powder.
Mix well and remove the besan mixture from heat
Once it almost cools, add sugar / jaggery powder and mix well.
Shape out small round balls and your besan laddoos are ready to be relished!
